nutu: regenerative & sustainable
Nutu (no͞otou/) is a phoneticization of the French phrase nous tous, meaning “all of us.”
It is our firm belief that the health of the one depends on the health of the many, and that the health of the many in turn depends on the health of the one.
It is Nutu’s mission to promote this cycle of health.
We are working with women-led cooperatives in West Africa to bring you the world's best moringa. Together we are building a sustainable business. We strive to share the bounty of the moringa tree with people around the world while nourishing earth by applying the regenerative principles of permaculture.
Founded on a vision of business as a virtuous cycle, a means of providing not just for the few but for us all, this is Nutu : Health from the ground up.
Our name is rooted in the principle of interdependence—the interdependence of peoples, ecologies, and economies:
Supporting nutu means supporting grassroot entrepreneurship
Nutu buys moringa from women-led cooperatives at fair, consistent prices, enabling women not only to work but also to take home good wages.
Supporting nutu means supporting reforestation and sustainable farming
Moringa tree farms provide an important line of defense against erosion and pollution, and help restore biological diversity to the landscape.
Supporting nutu means supporting children's health and nutrition
A portion of nutu sales goes toward distributing moringa to school cafeterias throughout West Africa, thus providing a valuable daily source of nutrients to students who might otherwise go undernourished.
